• Consultant will size the boiler capacity with sufficient control margin over & above the actual requirement at inlet of turbine based on “heat & mass balance diagram of TG set & also considering process stem requirement if any. Technical specification will be prepared based on the discussions & availability of fuels in the vicinity.

• c) Piping
• consultant will design  & prepare specs/schematic drg & necessary working drg for pipe work covering general arrangement, line sizing, bill of materials, piping  between equipments such  as boiler ,turbine ,deaerator,cooling tower , condenser etc.,However detailed drg for obtaining IBR clearance will be covered in the scope of piping/equipment contractor/supplier. Consultant will carry out stress analysis for critical piping.
• Piping forming integral part of equipment will be supplied by selected boiler /turbine supplier.detaied engineering & design of such integral pipe work will be included within scope of equipment supplier. Consultant will review vendor drg & specs.
• Preparation of equipment & piping drg including comprehensive layouts for submission to statutory authorities for boiler will be included in scope of main power house package contract such as Boiler; TG etc.review of such drg will be carried out by consultant.
• Preparation of fabrication drg, bill of material, piping & valve schedule for interconnecting piping such as boiler water & cooling water is in consultant scope of service.

• Consultant shall be responsible for technical soundness for any design & engineering document prepared by them. In the event of any deficiency in these designs, consultant shall revise such drgs at no additional cost to client so as to enable client to carry out such modifications at clients cost as may be required.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT/MONITORING

• Overall planning, scheduling and controlling of the project using MS Project planning software
• Preparation of monthly progress reports and submission to client
• Assist client in obtaining statutory clearances and approvals
• Attend periodic review meetings at reasonable intervals

INSPECTION SERVICE

• Consultant will inspect the major component of equipment at manufacturers work
• Finalization of inspection procedure namely QAP  & schedule submitted by supplier, identification of type of test to be carried out by the supplier & discussion with supplier to finalize the same
• Carrying out inspection for major items of equipment to be identified during procurement stage at manufacturers works according to agreed inspection procedure & schedule
• Preparing documentation on inspections performed & issue inspection certificates
• Consultant will take almost care & diligence in the performance of their duties. Consultant will render necessary assistance to client to get defective/unsuitable equipment replaced by concerned supplier.

SUPERVISORY SERVICES

• Erection Supervision Services
• Consultant will depute engineers of various disciplines to site for providing service for supervision of construction & erection work & for co-ordination of site activities during construction/erection period. However client shall recruit their own staff for taking care of administrative matters, material accounting activities. The scope of service to be undertaken by consultant at site will be as follow:
• Carry out supervision of work at site on behalf of client & issue necessary instruction to contractor to ensure that work is carried out as per approved drg & specs.
• Co-ordinate activities of various contractors working simultaneously at site.

• Interpretation of drg, specs & code of practices to the executing agencies & suggest modification if required, by way of substitution of sections & materials to suit site conditions.
• Review contractors work plans & inform client periodically regarding progress of construction work at site, highlighting areas of concern in the form of monthly progress report.
• Interpret results of test carried out by contractors.
• Assistance in Commissioning:
• Consultant will assist client at the time when various equipment & plant units are being commissioned by the concerned equipment supplier/contractor. Consultant along with client will supervise the equipment guarantee test which will be conducted by respective contractor & assist client in issuing acceptance certificates on satisfactory completion of test.
